Talk To God

When most people think about prayer, they immediately think about asking. “Lord, give me this.” “Lord, fix this.” “Lord, change this.” “Lord, get me out of this.” And there is nothing wrong with asking. Jesus taught us to ask. But if asking is the only dimension of prayer we understand, our prayer life will remain limited. Paul gives us another picture of prayer in Ephesians 1. What is interesting is that Paul is writing to believers. These people already belong to Christ. Yet Paul says, essentially: “There are some things God has already given you that you still need spiritual understanding to recognize.”
